Through the Curtainland of Dreams
Through the Curtainland of Dreams
What might be waiting beyond the curtain?
Through the Curtainland of Dreams is an original painting from Chocotopia, the inner world that Chiyoko Kana has been observing, painting, and chronicling for years.
Here, a curious gathering of Chocotopia’s residents inhabits a world where the familiar and the strange exist comfortably side by side. A cat, a rabbit, a dog, and other peculiar little characters appear among fragments of color, pattern, and unexpected details—as though we have wandered into the middle of a story already in progress.
Chiyoko does not determine where that story must lead. Instead, she leaves clues and little riddles throughout the painting, inviting each viewer to imagine what happened before this moment—and what might happen next.
Perhaps the curtain is not an entrance at all.
Perhaps you have already stepped through it.
